Newsletter May 14th-18th

Jesus Time: We are learning about Peter in Prison.  We are focusing each day on how God invites us to pray and how he promises to hear and answer our prayers in His way and at the time when He knows best.  Read the story with your children from Acts 12:4-18
Math: We are working on covering designs with Tangrams using our tangrams they will have to explore slides, turns and flips to cover their design.  Also, we are continuing to work on identifying coins and how their values can equal other coins.  Example - 25 pennies equals 1 quarter or 5 nickels
Grab some extra change and work on this after dinner time!
Make if fun; make it a game to play.
Reading/Writing:  Our theme is Art All Around.  We are reading Warthogs Paint: A Messy Color Book
Our last sight words for the year are me and where
Please continue to review sight words by playing a flashcard game, hide and seek, seeing how fast they can read all of the words...and many more ways you can come up with!

Making our Fish Bricks

As our year ends in Kindergarten, I wanted something the students
cherish for a long time -- what better than concrete!
Here is our class making Fish Bricks!
Placing the glass tiles in the brick forms.

Here are the glass pieces stuck to the contact paper.
The next time we see them will be in cement.

Using shovels to mix cement and place inside our brick forms.

The drying process...
Kindergartners have to a lot of patience for this step.

The finished bricks look amazing!
Next, where to put your brick....

Thank you to my mother-in-law, Mrs. Endorf for showing us how to make our own bricks.
It would not have been possible without you.
